Banana Cake with Caramel Cream Cheese Icing and Lolly Decorations
Thank you so much Alison’s Pantry for the amazing box full of Alison’s Pantry products.
I spent the day making Apricot Slice and Cranberry White Chocolate Cookies featuring their delicious dried fruits.
My little man is turning 3 tomorrow 🎉 Thought I would share with you the presents he is getting this year.
He loves to hammer nails etc at Kindy so to carry that on at home I got him these awesome Build With Me NZ projects to complete with his new hammer and screw drivers. So cool, can’t wait to see how they turn out. Plus some safety googles 😁
His favourite colour is red so I went with that theme for the clothing, paint with water book and an interactive fire engine book. Then finally some bubble bath to top it off.
I hope these ideas come in handy when you are present hunting 😎
I absolutely love decorating baking with flowers. We currently have four large borage plants in the garden thanks to the New World little garden seedlings. The bees are loving them. I picked up this cute little packet of edible flowers from the herb section at New World. They would be amazing on top of cakes or cupcakes. I decided to make a pretty heart shaped pavlova for dessert a family dinner.
Nadia Lim’s Kumara Forcaccia with Grapes and Rosemary from Vegful
This forcaccia bread went down nicely with our pre-barbeque snacks. Great to have friends over to enjoy the sunshine and the kids on the slip n slide 👌
We have made it home to Whanganui after over a week away discovering our NZ backyard and catching up with friends/family.
We had an amazing time in New Plymouth, Cambridge and the Bay of Plenty. We were lucky to have perfect weather. Home now for some sleep 😴😴😴
How lucky are we to live here and beable to have a summer holiday visiting family and friends. Thinking of you all overseas in lockdown xx
Quick family pic in Taupo on the drive home. There is always one 😂😋
A bit of festive gingerbread baking this afternoon. We made gingerbread men with M & M buttons, Christmas trees with M & M decorations and reindeer by turning gingerbread men cutouts upside down and decorating with icing and M & Ms. The kids had a lot of fun rolling the dough, cutting out the shapes and decorating them. We used the Lots of Baking Mixes gingerbread mix and it tasted awesome. So easy to use and the dough was great to work with. We were lucky enough to win it from Marshmellow and Mint.
This morning I was lucky enough to run a Christmas treat decorating workshop for someone’s Christmas work party.
We had a lot of fun creating Christmas trees, baubles, reindeer, snowmen and Christmas puddings.
Each idea will be up on the blog soon for you to have a go yourselves for Christmas morning teas as we head into the festive month.
Outdoor Mud Kitchen for $11.50 🎉🎉
I managed to pick up a kitchen sink for $1 off trade me and the kitchen pots/utensils for $10.50 from a local Op shop. We used old jar lids to make the switches and fence paint from the garage to paint on the hobs.
It is awesome for the kids to have a waterplay area in the backyard. They love imitating Mum and Dad in the kitchen. So much fun to be had over the summer.
